Other Stuff

I will have some things to share that don’t fit my other categories, like recipes, a document for helping you plan for your death (and the deaths of loved ones), and…stuff. That’s all I can think of right now.

End of Life Planning

I put this file together when I realized that I don’t know enough about what some people close to me want done when they die–and I will be filling it out myself. Please share and consider filling it out yourself. And make sure someone close to you knows about the document and where to find it. end-of-life-plans

It’s also a really good idea to have a medical advance directive, specifying what kind of care you want. This is particularly important if you have health issues or are “older” (whatever that means), but it’s smart for anyone at any age. This is the Virginia Advance Directive, produced by the Virginia State Bar. Each state’s will be different, so look around–though this is better than nothing!

Recipes

If you like Zuppa Toscana from Olive Garden, check out this home version, which I call Zuppa Sorta Toscana. I found a number of recipes online and tweaked them until I liked the results. I like to serve it with garlic bread made from roasted garlic bread (sliced, with melted butter and sauteed garlic on both sides, and broiled). Enjoy!

I made this recently, and it was great. I added lime juice when I served it, and also made it with kale because I couldn’t get swiss chard. 🙂 Yummy and healthy!
